Compton Early College (CEC) in partnership with Compton College is in its eighth year of operation. Established in 2015 as a senior high school, CEC has incorporated a middle school and spans grades 6-12. An early college's purpose is to provide students with an opportunity to earn an AA (Associate of Arts Degree) and/or IGETC (Intersegmental General Education Transfer Certificate) while also earning their high school diploma.

More than 350 middle school scholars gathered in the auditorium after watching the movie, only to be greeted by the award-winning actor himself for an exclusive Q&A session.
